"He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand."

Weekly Bible Study and Disciple Group
Every Tuesday morning at 11am we have an opportunity to explore the claims of Christ through a basic Bible study and a light Lunch. Above all we hope to make disciples and not just converts. On a Thursday we have our discipleship group. It is our aim to equip these men and women with everything they need to thrive in their relationship with God and to weather any storms life might throw at them.
“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous to bring you to God.” Sometimes a verse takes a grip of your heart and mind and that has been true of 1 Peter 3:18. It is such a beautiful and understandable summation of the Gospel. This demonstration of Jesus love is our motivation for taking to the streets, and his substitutionary sacrifice is the message we never tire of sharing while we’re there. Our street work takes place on Monday evenings in Glasgow city centre near Blythswood Street..
The prison work reminds me of the fish in the story of Jonah. Under normal circumstances getting swallowed by a fish is a bad thing, but God used the fish to save Jonahs life. likewise being put in prison is a bad thing. But it often saves peoples lives when they’re at their lowest ebb. Every Friday the team has the privilege of sharing with the men in Barlinnie that there is a freedom you can experience despite the prison walls.
Women's Group and Creche
Our work with the mums includes teaching on subjects such as practical parenting. As well as providing support by accompanying them to social work appointments, meetings with lawyers, and child care agencies. It is important to create an atmosphere where they are able to relax and share some of the issues they are struggling with. To achieve this we run a stimulating program for the children run by staff and volunteers.
We believe that helping families and being a part of their lives throughout the year is a great way to share the love and strength we ourselves have received by being part of God's wider family.
Although this is not the focus of our work, our staff have extensive experience working with people who struggle with addictions. We believe there is no-one who knows as much about recovery from addiction as Jesus. We also believe if people are applying the practical teachings mapped out in scripture they will recover in every area of their life.
Courses take place at different times during the year. Please contact us to find out when the next course starts.
